Registered Nurse: Mental Health Services

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides a full range of professional nursing care to assigned clients in a residential treatment environment, including Sub-Acute and Joint Commission approved Residential Treatment facilities. Care may provided – in compliance with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations – to children and adolescents.

Essential functions and key accountabilities include managing client medications; listening to clients and interpreting their needs and concerns correctly; building relationships with clients to encourage trust; responding to distressed clients in a non-threatening manner, attempting to understand the source of their distress, and applying the de-escalation approach; working independently and in cooperation with a multidisciplinary team; participating in client treatment plan reviews; documenting medical records in an appropriate and timely manner; interpreting lab data; performing nursing assessments and intakes/admits with an awareness of cultural diversity, age-specific and high risk; being responsible for and participating in nursing on-call after hours and p.m. shift rotations; acting as a health issue resource, including providing health education to clients, guardians and staff as needed; and other duties as assigned.

  • Six to twelve months RN experience
  • Experience working with children and adolescents preferred

Per Diem Nurses

Job Summary:

Per Diem Nurses work on an as needed basis to cover for vacations, illnesses and vacancies. These individuals work with children and adolescents in treatment. Previous residential experience or work with children and adolescents in acute care is a plus. Responsibilities include managing client medications, responding to distressed clients in a non-threatening manner, inputting information for treatment reviews, working with a multi-disciplinary team, performing a variety of assessments, providing health resources as needed, electronic medical record documentation, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current RN License
  • Six to twelve months RN experience and prior work with children preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current Oregon or Washington driver’s license
  • Must pass drug screen & criminal background check

Job Summary:

The Teacher/Counselor in ChristieCare’s Clackamas River Native American Program provides supervision and safety, promotes success for the individual with their treatment goals, plans and implements activities and groups, responds to crisis, and works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.

The Clackamas River Native American Program offers culturally responsive residential treatment for Native American youth, addressing their emotional, spiritual, cultural, educational and physical needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, or related field and knowledge of child development
  • Experience with youth and Native American traditions and/or organizations preferred
  • Current Oregon or Washington driver’s license

On-Call Emergency Safety Intervention Specialist

Job Summary:

ChristieCare seeks On-Call Emergency Safety Intervention Specialists (ESI) to provide on-site coverage for residential programs regarding the use of Special Treatment Procedures (restraint and seclusion).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education Counseling, Counseling or a related human service field.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a residential treatment setting, providing assessment in response treatment interventions.
  • Successful completion of the CESIS certification process through OMHAS.
  • Current Oregon or Washington driver’s license.

Teacher Counselor

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing and maintaining a safe, healthy and therapeutic environment for clients that supports the development of positive emotional growth for the children ages 8 through 18 years. Teacher Counselors lead activities, provide counseling, assist with daily living tasks, and implement our positive behavior support plan as directed by the treatment team.
Salary: Starts at $10.50/hour depending on experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years experience in a hospital or acute care treatment setting preferred.
  • Childcare worker/youth counselor experience, other educational, professional or culturally relevant experience may be considered.
  • Current Oregon/Washington driver’s license.
