Job Summary:

ChristieCare, a leading provider of mental health services, is seeking an exceptional Therapist to provide services at our Marylhurst Campus. The Marylhurst Campus located is situated 14 acres of landscaped property between West Linn and Lake Oswego and serves children ages 8 through 18.

Primary responsibilities for this position include, providing direct treatment services to residents utilizing group and family therapy modalities, coordinating and integrating the network of services available throughout the programs, providing consultation and supervision to Teacher Counselors to assist with structuring a therapeutic milieu, and providing accurate and timely treatment documentation.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Master degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field.
Current Oregon/Washington driver’s license.
LCSW or LPC preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Specialized expertise and knowledge of therapeutic modalities to conduct psychotherapy with individuals, families, and groups
Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekend, days, swing, and/or overnight.
Ability to work with a variety of supervisors and staff on an intermittent basis.
Basic knowledge of human development.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Organized and able to multi-task.

Milieu Management
•Supervise and direct clients in the daily living setting to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
•Organize, facilitate, and participate in daily activities with clients that support positive behavior modification and reinforcement.
•Recognize opportunities to assist clients with learning, utilizing Re-Education principles.
•Provide life skills training to include independent living (personal hygiene, social skills, household tasks, job development skills such as completing job applications, interviewing, work related social skills, money management, transportation options etc.).
•Supervise bedtime routines.
•Facilitate and participate in running milieu groups.
•Initiate appropriate crisis intervention techniques following agency policy and procedures.
•Document the medical record appropriately (client behavior, significant incidents, interventions); Documentation completed by end of shift, as required by policy.
Activities
•Plan and implement a structured, routine schedule of daily activities.
•Use daily activities to teach living skills to clients.
•Participate with clients in scheduled events to model acceptable behaviors and problem solving skills.
•Monitor resident laundry and assist as appropriate.
•Lead and participate in daily group meetings.
•Provide supervised free time for client self-expression.
Education
•Accompany and/or transport clients to related school functions and after-school events.
•Participate in school conferences and attend special events and activities.
•Review and sign school/homework.
•Supervise homework completion, assisting as necessary.

Team
•Cooperate with team members regarding program decisions.
•Participate in required team meetings, treatment plan reviews, staff development, shift team plan meetings, and discharge planning meetings.
•Communicate with team members regarding clients’ issues.
•Follow through with program decisions, plans, and expectations.

Awake Overnight
•Documented room checks every 15 minutes from bedtime to wake-up.
•Attend to client’s needs during the night, i.e. getting up, restroom use etc.
•Complete, in a timely manner, regular nightly chores and extra chores as assigned.
•Clean and sanitize any empty room, complete appropriate documentation.
•Complete Progress Notes for each child prior to the end of shift.
•Remain awake, alert, and responsive to the clients’ needs during the entire shift.

Additional Functions
•Complete all cottage chores as assigned or needed.
•Provide overtime shift coverage as assigned or requested.
•Provide shift lead coverage as assigned or requested.
•Assist with meal preparation and clean up.
•Employees will be required to follow any other job related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Other: Current Oregon/Washington driver’s license in good standing

Experience: Two (2) years experience in a hospital or acute Care treatment setting preferred. Childcare Worker/youth counselor experience, other educational, professional or culturally relevant experience may be considered.
Knowledge:
•Basic knowledge of human development.

•Well-organized and able to multi-task.
•Must be able to work mandatory overtime, as Agency needs dictate.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing and maintaining a safe, healthy and therapeutic environment for clients that supports the development of positive emotional growth for the children ages 8 through 18 years. Teacher Counselors lead activities, provide counseling, assist with daily living tasks, and implement our positive behavior support plan as directed by the treatment team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology or related field preferred.

Valid Oregon/Washington driver’s license.

Two (2) years experience in a hospital or acute care treatment setting preferred. Childcare
worker/youth counselor experience, other educational, professional or culturally relevant experience may be considered.
